Why Pimples Inside the Nose Happen

Why Pimples Inside the Nose Happen

A pimple inside the nose is usually due to bacteria (often Staphylococcus aureus) infecting a hair follicle or tiny oil gland. Causes include:

  • Picking or scratching inside the nose with dirty fingers or nails

  • Dust, pollution, or allergies irritating the lining

  • Weakened immune system or frequent skin infections

Natural & Home Care Remedies

⚠️ Important: If the pimple becomes very painful, swelling spreads, or you develop fever, always see a doctor — nasal infections can sometimes spread.

  1. Warm Compress

    • Dip a clean cloth in warm water, squeeze out excess, and gently press it against the nose area for 5–10 minutes.

    • Repeat 2–3 times a day. This helps reduce pain and may encourage drainage.

  2. Keep It Clean

    • Wash your face regularly with mild soap and lukewarm water.

    • Avoid picking or squeezing the pimple, as this can spread infection.

  3. Saline Rinse

    • Rinse your nose gently with a saline (salt water) spray to keep the inside clean and reduce irritation.

  4. Aloe Vera Gel (External Application)

    • If the pimple is near the edge of the nostril, you can apply a little fresh aloe vera gel with a cotton swab. It helps soothe inflammation.

  5. Turmeric Paste

    • Turmeric has natural antibacterial properties. Mix a pinch with a few drops of water to make a paste and apply gently outside the nose where the swelling shows.

  6. Boost Immunity Naturally

    • Eat foods rich in vitamin C (citrus, kiwi, bell peppers) and zinc (pumpkin seeds, nuts) to help your body fight infection.

    • Drink enough water to stay hydrated.

When to See a Doctor

  • If pain and swelling worsen

  • If you notice spreading redness or swelling in the face

  • If you get fever, headache, or vision problems

  • If the pimple doesn’t improve in a week with home care

A doctor may prescribe topical antibiotic ointments or oral antibiotics if it’s a true infection.

Summary: Warm compresses, saline rinses, and natural remedies like aloe vera or turmeric may help relieve a small nasal pimple. But don’t squeeze it, and seek medical care if it worsens.
